Product Description

The LC fiber optical adapters (also called couplers) are designed to connect two LC type of fiber optic patch cables together. Designed for both multimode or singlemode cables, a fiber optical adapter is a special connector designed to mate or connect two ends of a fiber optic cable with high precision alignment.

It is widely used in optical fiber optic patch panels, fiber optic distribution frames (ODFs), fiber optic terminal boxes, fiber optic distribution boxes, fiber optic instruments, and fiber optic testing equipment, providing superior, stable, and reliable performance.

They feature single fiber connector (simplex), dual fiber connector (duplex), or sometimes four fiber connector (quad) configurations. LC fiber optical adapters have high-precision alignment sleeves for improved reliability and better reconnectability. The LC adapters come with ceramic sleeves for both single mode and multimode. The housing is available in different colors with options for flange or flangeless bodies, and metal or inbuilt clips.

The LC fiber optical connector utilizes a convenient modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism. The pins and sleeves used are 1.25mm, which are half the sizes used for normal SC, FC, and other standard couplers. The fiber optical adapter uses a simple design: the ends of two separate fiber optic cables with fiber optic connectors fit into two slots opposite each other.

Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat is the main function of an LC fiber optical adapter?

An LC fiber optical adapter (also known as a coupler) is designed to connect two LC type fiber optic patch cables together with high precision alignment, ensuring minimal signal degradation.

QWhat type of sleeve material is used in this adapter?

The adapter features high-precision alignment sleeves made of Zirconia Ceramic, which provides excellent reliability and better reconnectability for both single mode and multimode fibers.

QWhat are the optical performance ratings of this LC adapter?

This adapter features low Insertion Loss (IL) of ≤0.2 dB and high Return Loss (RL) of ≥50dB, guaranteeing a highly stable and efficient fiber optic connection.

QWhich fiber types are compatible with the adapter?

The LC adapter is designed to support single mode fibers (including G652D, G657A, G657B, and G655 standards) as well as multimode fiber cable networks.

QWhere are these fiber optic adapters typically deployed?

They are widely applied in fiber patching systems, including optical patch panels, ODFs (fiber distribution frames), termination boxes, splitter boxes, and optical test equipment used in LAN, WAN, CATV, and FTTH networks.
